Located in scenic Chardon, Ohio, we are a small kennel, having owned, and loved Golden Retrievers and many All American breeds for many years. We are involved in Golden Retriever rescue, having been active members of GRIN (Golden Retrievers In Need), and have fostered and been involved in the adoption and placement of many Goldens. We became interested in conformation after having owned two beautiful Golden Retrievers from Donna Edwards of Hytree Golden Retrievers in Garrettsville, Ohio. Our Golden Retriever "Journey" is the latest addition to our family. At just over 2 years, he is proving to be oustanding in the show ring. He really just began to show consistently in the Spring of 2010, coming away with a placement almost every time out, including both of his majors at Golden Retriever specialties. Journey just earned his Championship in January 2011, and went on to back-to-back Breed wins the same weekend, thanks to the talented handling of Tim Terella and Megan Moore. What a handsome boy with awesome movement. He is truly exciting to watch and we look forward to seeing him in the Specials ring this coming spring and summer!
Our love of the Border Collie began approximately eight years ago, when we actively started searching for our first. Our search lead us to Carol Richardson and Cloverdale Border Collies in Valparaiso, Indiana, where we got our first BC "Benny". Benny is unique in that he is considered a blue and white, and his father Am Aust Ch Goldentone Blue Illusion (Jordie) was one of the top producing Border Collies in the country and abroad. Thus, began our love of this most intelligent, untiring and loyal breed. We always say that Benny knows what we are thinking and apparently this is quite true for most BC's. Because of his high energy and knowing that the BC's are most happy when they have a "job", Benny became active in agility, herding, and became a certified Delta therapy dog and visited many patients at nursing homes and hospitals. Many of the patients commented how they would wait for his next visit because of how he would lift their spirits. But we found that his greatest enjoyment is playing Flyball, and he is an active member of a local Flyball team in our area, Rockin' Flyball Gang. Please check out flyball at North American Flyball Assocation (NAFA) at www.flyball.org.
We then decided to try our luck in the show ring with a Border Collie, and in 2007 we went again to Carol Richardson and found our boy " Moon ". What can we say about Moon ??? He has far exceeded our expectations in the show ring, starting at the age of ten months, taking Winners Dog and Best of Winners at his very first show. At his second show, at the age of 11 months, Moon took Breed and proved himself worthy in the Group ring with a Group 4 win! It has been pretty much non-stop winning since that time, having gained his Championship in Oct. 2008 at the age of 14 months. What an accomplishment. Moon attended Westminster in 2010 and 2011 and was invited to the BC National and to Eukanuba. Moon is now a Grand Champion under the talented handling of Tim Terella, and has consistently ranked in the top 20 BC's in the country. He has striking beauty in color and coat, with a lovely head and front. We have began a breeding program with Moon and are excited to see what his breeding will produce.
All in all, we are dog people with a great love for all animals in general. Our animals are family to us and we gain great pleasure from watching them doing what they love. Thank you for browsing our site.
